Jail escapee has lengthy record

Although he was currently awaiting trial on the “non-violent” offenses of fraudulent use of a credit card, a man who escaped the Pettis County Jail late Thursday night and is still at large as of Monday has a prior record of assault, drug use, theft, burglary and resisting arrest spanning a decade.

Prosecutors charged Brandon E. McGee, 29, of the 24000 block of state Route V, with one count of escape from confinement, a class D felony, on Friday. Bond is not an option.

“You can run but you can’t hide,” said Capt. Dave Keller, of the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office. “We are going to get this guy. It’s just a matter of when we are going to get him and where we have to go to get him. We are going to get him back.”
