Inmate dies after illness at Delaware prison

SMYRNA, Delaware — Corrections officials say an inmate has died at a Delaware prison after a long illness.

The Department of Correction said in a news release that 58-year-old Joseph J. Bostic of Harrington died Monday in the infirmary at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center near Smyrna. Officials say he was serving a life term for rape and had been sentenced in 1986.
