Official: N.D. inmate who escaped was 'no real threat'

A North Dakota official says no announcement was made regarding the inmate who escaped a corrections facility last week because he was not considered a public threat.

Thirty-six-year-old Michael Engst was arrested in Breckenridge, Minnesota, after he walked away Wednesday from the low-risk, minimum-security Missouri River Correctional Center in Bismarck.

The Bismarck Tribune reports that corrections officials alerted law enforcement in both states about the escapee, but did not notify the public.
