IONIA, Mich. (WZZM) -- Two dozen correctional officers Friday held pickets urging that manned gun towers and perimeter patrols be restored to Ionia and all prisons statewide. They contend those procedures contributed to the February escape of convicted killer Michael Elliot. Those claims were supported in an investigation released last month by Attorney General Bill Schuette.
