Stephanie Jackson of Lyndonville visited her son, Eric, just once during the year he was serving his Vermont prison sentence in Kentucky. "It's really hard," Jackson said. "I don't think putting people away from people they care about helps." Cynthia Bryer of Morrisville has never been to visit her son, Shaun, in the three years he's been incarcerated in Kentucky.
