| Central Valley prison, state hospital add solar power |

The Pleasant Valley State Prison in Coalinga and the Coalinga State Hospital are the latest state facilities to switch on solar power, the Department of General Services says Monday. The two Coalinga facilities have a total generating capacity of 3.22 megawatts. “The solar installation is expected to provide 24 percent of the electricity at DSH-Coalinga during its first year,” says Department of State Hospital Director Cliff Allenby.
