Audit finds problems with prisoner education programs in Michigan |

A new audit shows problems in Michigan’s prisoner education program. The state auditor general’s office says the Michigan Department of Corrections failed to identify prisoners who qualify for federal assistance to take classes. It also shows the department failed to make sure the programs were effective. Russ Marlan is a spokesperson for the Michigan Department of Corrections.
