| Riot Underway at Brazilian Prison |

Brazilian authorities have reported that innmates took prisoners and guards hostage, decapitating at least three individuals. Between 800 and 1,000 prisoners carried out violent riots in the Brazilian penitentiary of Cascavel in which prisoners were demanding better living conditions, increased access to nutritional meals, and the prevention of abuse by prison guards. The mutiny resulted in the decapitation of at least three inmates, one of whom was a former police officer, and at least five other people were injured. Read More. |
