ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. -- Authorities have apprehended an inmate who escaped custody Friday afternoon. The North Carolina Department of Public Safety says a minimum-custody inmate, identified as Michael Brown, escaped from a work assignment Friday afternoon in Taylorsville. Brown was working at the Alexander County Animal Shelter when he fled in a stolen county-owned pickup truck, authorities say. That truck was located along Edd Burgess Road in Taylorsville, and officials believed the inmate was still in the area. Read More. |
