| Arizona picks company to review 2-hour execution |

The Arizona Department of Corrections has chosen a firm to review its investigation of the nearly two-hour execution of Joseph Rudolph Wood. Carter Goble Lee will conduct a review of an investigation by the department's Inspector General. The company was formerly known as Carter Goble Associates and specializes in assisting correctional facilities in planning and facility development. The company will look at the July 23 execution of Wood, who was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend and her father. Wood's execution took nearly two hours, prompting calls for an investigation. His attorney says the execution was botched, a claim the department denies. He has also criticized the lack of an independent investigation. Read More. |
