An inmate who walked away from a community corrections center was arrested Tuesday in a traffic stop, state prison officials said Wednesday. John Clendaniel, 31, of Dover, sentenced to the Morris Community Corrections Center in Dover, failed to return Sunday after leaving with an authorized pass, according to Christopher Klein, deputy bureau chief of prisons in the state Department of Correction. He was sent to the center after violating probation on an original charge of third-degree burglary, Klein said. The center is designed to let offenders leave to work, look for employment or get treatment as they transition back into the community. Read More. |
