| Alabama prison officials place Holman Correctional Facility on lockdown |

ATMORE, Alabama – Holman Correctional Facility officials placed the prison on lockdown Friday, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections. Kristi Gates, a spokeswoman for the department, said the incident began when an inmate assaulted a corrections officer who was searching for contraband cell phones. She said prison authorities brought the situation under control and restored calm. She said officials placed the facility on lockdown as a precaution and would remain so for as long as prisons officials deem necessary. Read More. |
