| Utah ends inmate wild horse program with BLM |

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah prison officials say the federal government has 30 days to relocate 1,100 wild horses after the state ended a program in which inmates cared for the animals. The Utah Department of Corrections announced Friday it was ending the program they've run with the Bureau of Land Management at the Gunnison prison since 2007. Corrections officials say the program is losing money and they could no longer spend taxpayer dollars on the effort. Read More. |
