Paintings by former and current inmates in the Washington, D.C., prison system that express the challenges of confinement are on display through November at Ingleside at King Farm, 701 King Farm Blvd., Rockville. An opening reception will be held at 4 p.m. Friday. The exhibit features 28 paintings by men participating in the Lorton Arts Program, an award-winning nonprofit that provides visual arts training and arts-based rehabilitative services to residents of the city’s Department of Corrections Detention Facility. The program offers classes in drawing, painting and mixed media to more than 200 students annually. Read More. |
