| Orange County corrections to pay $100,000 to family of slain teen |

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —A father whose son was shot to death in a home invasion two years ago has settled with the Orange County Department of Corrections. Rafael Zaldivar said the department agreed to pay the family $100,000. Additional money may be available for the family through a state victim's fund. Zaldivar's son Alex was set to testify in a home invasion trial in September 2012 but was killed the day before he was scheduled to take the stand. Read More. |
