LEAKESVILLE, MS (WLOX) - Seven correctional officers were assaulted at the South Mississippi Correctional Institution in Leakesville Monday afternoon. The department of corrections says a group of inmates attacked the officers Monday afternoon. So far, five inmates have been identified and transferred to other prisons.
