| Federal suit filed after inmate death at MCI-Framingham |

FRAMINGHAM – The estate of a former MCI-Framingham inmate who died at the prison in 2013 filed a wrongful death suit this week against a corrections officer and unnamed deputies in the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department, alleging negligence and deliberate indifference by the officers caused the woman’s death. In a suit filed in U.S. District Court Monday, the family of Monique Miller claims the 42-year-old mother of five died of a drug overdose and was left lying facedown on her cell floor for hours after snorting heroin while in custody. Miller’s estate, represented by attorney Michael Bace, filed the suit against corrections officer Nancy Padvaiskas and unnamed deputies from the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department.
