OLYMPIA, Washington — About 6,000 employees at the state Department of Corrections will receive a pay raise of nearly 10 percent over the next two years under an arbitration judgment. The arbitration judgment came last week after Teamsters Local 117 and Gov. Jay Inslee's negotiating team reached an impasse, The Olympian reported Tuesday. The ruling in favor of the Teamsters provides pay raises of 5.5 percent in July 2015 and another 4.3 percent in 2016. Select positions will see raises of an additional 2.5 percent. Read More. |
