Escambia County Sheriff's deputies are looking for an inmate who escaped a state-operated work release program Wednesday morning, a news release from the Sheriff's Office said. The 35-year-old inmate, Jonathan P. Porter, was last seen running ran southbound on North L Street around 8:30 a.m. Officials believe he may have been picked up by a female driving a 2012 white Nissan Versa four-door car with California plates, according to the release. Deputies searched L Street and the surrounding area Monday morning and notified law enforcement agencies in neighboring counties that Porter could be heading their way. A spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office said they are conducting the search as if Porter still is in the area, but they cannot confirm how far he has traveled. Read More. |
