The Wilkinson County Correctional Facility has been more violent than any state prison in Mississippi — and twice as deadly as the streets of Detroit. Over the past two years, the prison has been averaging a killing each year. If Wilkinson were a city of 100,000, it would average more than 111 slayings a year.
