| State corrections officer arrested in gang investigation, 617 marijuana plants seized |

A state corrections officer was arrested Wednesday as a result of an investigation that led to the seizure of 617 marijuana plants in Sacramento. Sacramento police said they arrested Eddie Lay, 32, on a charge of cultivation of marijuana for sale. The investigation also led to the arrest Wednesday of Tommy Su, 29, for possession for sales of marijuana as well as Phu Su, 33, for cultivation and sale of marijuana. Michael Su, 29, and Vich Nguyen, 29, also were arrested for cultivation for sale of marijuana as well as for child endangerment. The arrests were the result of an investigation that began when police received information that a law enforcement officer was involved in criminal activity with a gang, police said. That investigation lasted eight months and included the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations Office of Internal Affairs.
