Four corrections officers were injured in three separate inmate attacks on Rikers Island on Wednesday night, a source at the Department of Corrections told the Post. Sources say the three assaults occurred at the Anna M. Kross Center just before 6:30 p.m. when a fight broke out between an inmate and an officer in a mental observation unit. An hour later, another officer was assaulted by an inmate in the General Population Unit, according to a Department of Corrections source. Read More. |
