Colorado officials say they are investigating the death of an inmate at the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility as a homicide. Fernando Barron, 51, was found dead in his cell at the Crowley facility on Nov. 9. Department of Corrections spokeswoman Alison Morgan said last Monday the death was ruled a homicide following an autopsy. She would not comment on the cause of death, except to say there are multiple inmate suspects. The facility holds about 1,000 inmates. Barron was serving time after being convicted of four counts of sexual assault and three counts of incest in Denver. |
