| Inmate pleads guilty to Hutch prison escape |

Mark Lucas, 45, pleaded no contest to a count of aggravated escape from custody and was found guilty by the court. Lucas is currently serving more than 20 years in prison for multiple burglaries and thefts. His sentencing was set for 3 p.m. Jan. 9, 2015. Lucas was discovered missing following a 12:30 p.m. headcount at the prison on Aug. 3. Kansas Department of Corrections Special Agent Troy Robinson testified in June that during an interview after Lucas’ capture, Lucas admitted to walking out the unlocked front gate of the minimum security prison and up Lorraine Street to Fairfield Inn.
