PORTAGE (WKOW) -- The Department of Corrections says a staff member at Columbia Correctional Institution was assaulted by an inmate Monday afternoon. The inmate stabbed the worker using an altered pair of blunt hobby scissors. Staff an another inmate rushed to the aid of the staff member and restrain the attacker. The victim and the intervening inmate were both treated for non-life threatening injuries. Read More. |
