| Augusta Correctional gets 200 more inmates |

The Virginia Department of Corrections has moved 200 more inmates to the Augusta Correctional Center in Craigsville in the wake of recent announced closures of other corrections facilities, a department spokesman said last week. There could be additional staffing to offset the added inmates. Corrections Spokeswoman Lisa Kinney said the department anticipates that "a number" of employees impacted by the recent closings would be moved to Augusta County. But Kinney said she did not know how many would move to the Craigsville prison. Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced cuts of more than 500 Corrections employees last month and the closing of a number of facilities, including the Cold Springs Work Center in Greenville.
