| NEW INFO: Inmate escapes from Greene County prison |

Jailers found a pile of clothes near a prison fence before realizing a man convicted of an armed robbery had escaped Wednesday morning. The North Carolina Department of Public Safety said 41-year-old Jeffrey Olds of Cumberland County escaped the Greene Correctional Center around 5:30 a.m. Thursday. Olds was serving two to four years in the minimum security prison for robbery with a dangerous weapon charges. His public record show the 41-year-old was convicted on that charge and had similar charges going back to 1999 which were consolidated for judgement. Read More. |
