FREMONT COUNTY - Two men from Afghanistan disappeared while attending an international prison training program in Cañon City recently. One left in September of 2013, the other in February.

Documents uncovered by the Denver Post suggest the men snuck away while claiming to go out for cigarettes. The one who left last September was captured trying to sneak into Canada, while the other remains at large. Their names haven't been released.

The two men were part of a group of 17 Afghanis receiving training on best practices for prisons at the International Correctional Management Training Center (ICMTC) run at the former Colorado Women's Correctional Facility.
