| Correctional officer sentenced for having sexual relations with inmate |

A Beaumont, Texas, corrections officer was sentenced to three years of probation Monday for improper sexual activity with an inmate. 42-year-old Wendy Lee Jordan pleaded guilty to the offense, which is a state jail felony, earlier this year. At the time of the incident, Jordan worked at a private correctional facility in Beaumont that houses federal and immigration prisoners. A probable cause affidavit says another employee at that facility received a video tape with images of Jordan performing oral sex on an inmate while he was behind bars. The act took place in a secluded area while other inmates were sleeping. |
