| Arizona prepares to open up more prisoner housing |

PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Department of Corrections is close to opening its newest facility for housing maximum security inmates. The $50 million structure is part of the Rast Unit at the Lewis Prison Complex in Buckeye. It will have enough room to house 500 inmates when it opens Dec. 1. Its cells will be equipped with newly-designed, high-security sliding doors with improved visibility. Read More. |
