| Nozzolio: Civil service exam for corrections officer trainees to be held Jan. 10 |

A civil service exam will be offered in early 2015 for individuals interested in becoming corrections officers, state Sen. Michael Nozzolio announced Wednesday. The exam will be held Jan. 10, 2015. To be eligible for the exam, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. To work for the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, you must be a New York resident. "As the chairman of the state Senate Codes Committee and former chairman of the Crime Victims, Crime and Correction Committee, I worked hard to require the Department of Corrections hire additional officers to ensure our public safety, as well as safer working conditions for all the brave men and women who work in our state correctional facilities," Nozzolio, R-Fayette, said in a statement.
