| Sheriff’s office creates community services division |

The Licking County Sheriff’s Office wants to be more involved in the community, and a new division with the department has been created to help achieve that goal. Sheriff Randy Thorp recently hired Wes Humble to be the executive director of the Community Services division of the department. Humble has been a volunteer chaplain with the sheriff’s office since 2008 and spent the past 13 years as lead pastor of Newark Church of Nazarene. Humble also has a master’s degree in human services management, specifically in nonprofits and government organizations. He previously worked as a director of communications for the Churches of Christ in Christian Union International Headquarters in Circleville. “It was one of those things we’d been talking about,” Thorp said. “It was just a situation where we had looked at all the different programs we were trying to run, and it made sense to separate it from patrol and form this division.” Read More. |
