| DOC asks for $47 million more to fill vacant and new positions |

CONCORD, New Hampshire — Department of Corrections officials want $47 million more in the next two-year state budget mainly to hire staff for the new women's prison in Concord and fill vacant positions to ease overtime burdens on employees. "People are tired and overworked; these are posts that are absolutely necessary to be filled when there's a vacancy," said Bob Mullen, budget director for the corrections department.
