| Ocean County appoints first woman warden |

Officials have tapped Sandra Mueller to serve as Ocean County Jail Warden, the first woman to hold the position. “I look forward to working closely with the board and to serving the citizens of Ocean County in this capacity,” Mueller said in a statement Thursday. Ocean County Freeholders voted unanimously Wednesday to appoint Mueller to the position, which is the top post in the county’s Department of Corrections. Muller will replace Theodore Hutler as warden at the jail, who is retiring from the post after nearly 30 years. Read More. |
