TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Jail crews will once again be allowed to perform code compliance work in Shawnee County beginning 2015. The Shawnee County Commission approved a $200,000 contract with the city of Topeka during the Thursday morning meeting. The money will pay for staff members to oversee two separate crews which will be used for code compliance issues such as mowing overgrown lawns and picking up trash.
