GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A communications mistake let a woman convicted of child abuse go free from jail and Gaston County investigators are trying to make sure it never happens again. Cassandra Wilson was supposed to be serving a three-month sentence on a child abuse conviction but as soon as she pleaded guilty, she was released by mistake.
