Santa's elves distribute toys out of prison warehouse

Tina Villarreal stood in line to find Christmas presents for her seven children early on Sunday morning. She showed up at "dark o'clock," she said, some time in the wee hours when it was still foggy, dark and freezing cold.

A line of people snaked out behind her by 9 a.m., curling around a parking lot full of cars. Some people had brought lawn chairs, and most were in sweatpants and heavy coats, dressed for comfort and a long wait.

It's two weeks past Thanksgiving. The time for Black Friday lines has gone, but for many families, it never came.
