Offender who fled during weekend pass back in custody

A Townsend man who had failed to report back to a Wilmington community corrections facility on Dec. 7 is back in custody.

David L. Daniels, 31, of Townsend, turned himself in at New Castle County police headquarters in the late evening of Dec. 12, according to the Delaware Department of Correction.

Daniels was serving a six-month sentence from a burglary conviction at the Plummer Community Corrections Center in Wilmington. He had been issued a weekend pass by the facility, but Department of Correction staff were unable to make contact with him. An escape warrant for his arrest was issued on Dec. 8.
