| Inmate gets up to 4 extra years in prison for having sharpened object |

WATERTOWN — A state prison inmate was sentenced Tuesday in Jefferson County Court to up to four additional years of incarceration for having a sharpened object at Cape Vincent Correctional Facility. Roque Hernandez, 48, an inmate at Bare Hill Correctional Facility, Malone, was sentenced to two to four extra years in prison after pleading guilty Nov. 5 to first-degree promoting prison contraband. He admitted that he possessed a sharpened toothbrush June 21 at the Cape Vincent prison. He is serving a three-year sentence imposed in Queens County in June 2013 for a second-degree attempted burglary conviction, according to the state Department of Corrections and Community Supervision website.
