ROCHESTER — Jason Chapman, who is charged with escaping from a minimum security prison unit in Concord, was arrested early Monday morning in Rochester after he allegedly took someone’s vehicle and crashed it into a ditch at the Granite State Business Park. Chapman, 40, of Farmington, was subdued by a Taser used by police when he refused to cooperate during his arrest, according to a Rochester police affidavit. He is being held in jail on $20,000 cash bail after his arraignment Monday on charges including receiving stolen property and driving while intoxicated. Late Sunday night, the N.H. Department of Corrections announced that Chapman was missing from the Correctional Transitional Work Center in Concord. He had been placed on walkaway status after failing to appear for a head count at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, according to a DOC press release. Read More. |
