WI - Criminal charges have now been filed against a Forest County correction officer. In October, the Forest County Sheriff's Department sent a new release stating three people, including two corrections officers would face state and federal charges on allegations of criminal activity. Jeanie Pitts, 59, is accused of leaking the names of three confidential informants. According to court documents she advised a former Forest County jail inmate who they needed to stay away from. She's expected to be charged with nine criminal charges including five counts of misconduct in office. Pitts was being held in the Marinette County Jail, which is standard protocol given her connection to the Forest County jail. Pitts has since posted bond. The department also said Melvin Donek, 43, also a correctional officer, and Jeanie's husband, Richard, 59, was also taken into custody. So far, criminal charges for Donek and Richard Pitts have not yet been filed. Additional suspects were arrested on various drug-related charges Read More. |
