A Flagstaff man who pleaded guilty to kidnapping his girlfriend in a 2014 domestic violence incident is now facing more charges after he attacked a prosecutor during a court hearing last week. Joseph “Juan” Delacruz, 31, was arrested in June after his girlfriend told police he beat her and prevented her from leaving their apartment on Cortland Boulevard until she washed off the blood from the assault. He initially managed to avoid prison thanks to a plea agreement. But when Coconino County Superior Court Judge Cathleen Brown Nichols decided to put Delacruz behind bars for violating his probation, the inmate turned his anger on the prosecutor. Read More. |
