| Monmouth County jail gets first female lieutenant |

FREEHOLD – For the first time, a female lieutenant will serve at Monmouth County Correctional Institution. Sheriff Shaun Golden announced Thursday that Susan Stephenson, a 19-year veteran officer at the correctional institution recently took to oath of office for lieutenant, making her the first woman to hold that rank at the facility. "She has served as a role model to both, women and men through her hard work, dedication and leadership skills. There is no one more deserving of this position," Golden said in a release.
