BOISE • A Buhl man serving life in prison appears to have hanged himself, prison officials said Wednesday. Donald Peters Shriver, 48, was found unconscious at 11:12 p.m. Sunday in his cell at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution south of Boise. He used braided fabric, made from clothes or bed sheets, and tied them to a vent in his cell, said Jeff Ray, spokesman for the state Department of Correction. Shriver had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and spent much of his adult life in prison, say news reports from the 1990s. Read More. |
