| Inmate dies after two days in hospital |

An inmate at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Facility died over the weekend after being hospitalized for complications related to a medical condition, said Vermont Department of Corrections Commissioner Andy Pallito. Annette Douglas, 43, of Chittenden County died Friday night after spending two days at the University of Vermont Medical Center on medical furlough, Pallito said. Douglas had several different addresses in the county. The jail is in South Burlington. Pallito said he could not disclose Douglas' medical condition due to medical privacy laws. Douglas was in Department of Corrections custody when she died, Pallito said. According to Pallito, Douglas was set to max out her sentence and be released on Wednesday. Read More. |
