| Jail could restrict inmates to Minnehaha County only |

As Minnehaha County moves toward closing its correctional facility on West Russell Street, its commissioners must decide whether to continue housing inmates from the U.S. Marshals Service, the state Department of Corrections and neighboring counties. The decision would mean the Minnehaha County could halt a decades-long practice that essentially rented inmate beds and all the services that go along with incarceration to other law enforcement agencies.
