STAMFORD -- A nine-year Stamford police officer with a lengthy history working for the City of New York Department of Correction, was promoted to the rank of sergeant on Tuesday. Douglas Deiso was joined by about 40 police officers as well as his wife, in-laws, sisters, nieces and daughters for the promotion ceremony attended by Mayor David Martin at police headquarters Tuesday morning.
