| Ricketts names Washington man as prisons director |

LINCOLN — Gov. Pete Ricketts on Tuesday named Scott Frakes to head the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. Frakes of Olympia, Washington, will bring more than 32 years of experience from the Washington Department of Corrections, where he worked at six different prisons, starting as a correctional officer and working through the uniformed ranks before moving into administrative and management roles. Omaha Sen. Bob Krist said he supports Ricketts' nomination of Frakes as director. The Legislature will now also have to vet him, he said. Read More. |
