SUNBURY - Northumberland County could recoup millions more than first thought in an insurance settlement from last week's fire at Northumberland County Prison. The prison is insured at a maximum of $31 million, according to Commissioner Chairman Vinny Clausi. However, he said it's unlikely the county will receive the full amount since depreciation of the prison, built in 1876, has not yet been determined. An adjuster from Travelers Insurance visited the facility Tuesday and met with county officials, who initially reported the prison was insured for $9.3 million plus an additional $1 million for expenses.
