ST. CROIX - A former V.I. Corrections Bureau officer pleaded guilty in federal court on Friday to a single charge of providing prison contraband. Marcel Scotland, a former officer at Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility, is facing up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 in connection with his guilty plea. Scotland was sworn in as a Corrections officer in November 2007. According to an affidavit filed in support of the charges, Scotland entered the prison about 1:45 a.m. on Jan. 31, 2014, carrying a blue bag. Read More. |
